A love Story

How We Met

Several years ago, Krzysztof and Biet fell in love over a plate of sweet potato fries and the sweet, sad sounds of The Innocence Mission in a diner on 23rd Street. Since then, Krzysztof moved to London and back, Biet evolved into a meditation entrepreneur, and a furry Russian cat named Mukti joined the family, which will someday soon include a Bernese Mountain Dog and a few kids!

The Proposal

Last September, Krzysztof hired a string quartet to surprise Biet on a Sunday at the midpoint of the Brooklyn Bridge. Sudden construction and mobs of tourists made his plan impossible, and so the quartet had to wheel its cello, music stands etc. back down the Bridge to City Hall Park, an improvised spot where Krzysztof knelt and sang ‘The Book of Love’ by Stephin Merritt to Biet, using the quartet as a kind of back up band. In the evening, City Hall Park is filled with live fire candelabras and so it was all rather magical.

Q: Where is Yeah Field Trip?

Yeah Field Trip will be held at El Capitan Canyon. Set in a gorgeous, unplugged, natural environment (imagine California luxury camping in a forest by the ocean), Field Trip is the perfect venue for you to relax, learn, and connect—in a way that’s intimate. Our time together will be spent at El Capitan Canyon, just north of Santa Barbara along an unspoiled stretch of the California coast.

We're all sleeping in cabins, yurts, or luxury tents. There are hot showers, modern bathrooms and resort like amenities. Glamping!

Nestled against the Los Padres National Forest with access to 3,500 acres of pristine nature preserve, the Canyon is set on 350 acres of rolling hills and creek canyons and is a five minute walk to El Capitan State Beach.

El Capitan Canyon is the perfect place for people to unplug, relax and connect as it offers a no fuss, back to nature camp experience with s'mores by the fire, hiking, and outdoor hangouts. You can check out the site here: http://www.elcapitancanyon.com.

Q: Is this a wedding or a retreat?

We are having our wedding inside Yeah Field Trip so we can celebrate our lives together and offer our guests an expansive experience that will leave all of us forever enriched. While our wedding ceremony and dinner will take place inside El Capitan Canyon during the Field Trip experience, wedding events will be private and open only to our guests.

Q. When will the wedding ceremony take place?

Our wedding ceremony will take place at 6 p.m., Saturday, February 25.

Q: How do I RSVP?

RSVP by going to the lodging page and booking your ticket and sleeping arrangements.  If you would like to create a plan that suits your needs for purchasing the lodging, the fine people at Yeah Field Trip are happy to help. Please email:  sayhello@yeahfieldtrip.com

Q: How do I purchase a Yeah Field Trip ticket to attend the wedding?

Through our relationship with Field Trip, we’ve worked out a steeply discounted price for lodging and all access admission to the four-night experience. Simply go to www.nationoflove.com/accommodations and select a cabin or tent.

When you select a lodging option, the price listed includes all meals, comfy accommodations for all four nights, access to all Yeah Field Trip events and programming, gifts + goodie bags, and much more!

Q: How does lodging work?

We’ve reserved a block of cabins and luxury tents at El Capitan Canyon for our guests. You can reserve a cabin or tent at www.nationoflove.com/accommodations. Book a cabin for four with your friends, stay with your significant other in a luxury tent or cabin, or book a bed in a communal cabin and make some new friends.

Q. Can my friends and I stay in a cabin together?

Of course! We encourage you to link up with friends you know will be attending the wedding and book a cabin together. You can reach out to Biet and Krzysztof at february25wedding2017@gmail.com for a list of other wedding guests. We’ll also be creating a Facebook group so guests can link up and make lodging accommodations together on that platform as well.

Q. What's the Yeah Field Trip day-to-day schedule like?

The official schedule won't be finalized until January, but here is how our days are organized:

Thursday: check-in is between 2-4 pm and then we will have dinner and evening activities, including an opening speaker.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday begin with breakfast and coffee before morning classes and workshops, then lunch, off-site hiking trips, yoga and meditation etc.

Or, you can skip it all, get yourself a massage and take a nice, long nap!

The annual Lazers and Blazers dance party will take place on Saturday evening.

Monday will conclude with morning brunch and check-out by 11 a.m.

Q. Is Yeah Field Trip kid-friendly?

Yes! We love kids and we want as many of them around as possible. Children under the age of 7 are free, while you can purchase an add-on ticket for all other children for $300, to cover the cost of meals etc.

Q: Who should I contact with questions?

Jessica at sayhello@yeahfieldtrip.com will be happy to answer any and all of your questions regarding lodging, food, transportation etc.

You can also contact Biet and Krzysztof at february25wedding2017@gmail.com.

Q. Can I bring my dog?

Animals aren't allowed in the canyon, but they are welcome at ocean mesa. If you wish to attend with your four-legged friends we suggest renting a campsite or rv spot at ocean mesa.

Q. How will I get there?

The Santa Barbara (SBA) Airport is a 15-20 minute drive away from El Capitan Canyon. The Los Angeles (LAX) Airport is a 2-2.5 hour drive depending on traffic. The address to El Capitan Canyon is: 11560 Calle Drive Goleta, CA, 93117. For those flying into LAX, Yeah Field Trip will provide shuttles to and from El Capitan Canyon for $50 each way.
